Born in Pinar del Rio (Cuba) began his musical studies at the Art School (EVA) in the city. Four years later he moved to Havana (Cuba) where he continues his education of a higher middle level the National Art School (ENA).


Travel to Colombia in 1996 with the orchestra "Cole Cole" where it lies. It is not until 2000 that arrived in Madrid (Spain) where he currently resides, having the chance to share the stage with personalities of "Jazz" as: Paquito D'Rivera, Jerry Gonzalez, Richie Cole, Jorge Pardo, Javier Colina, Bebo Valdes and Perico Sambeat among many others.


Throughout his "musical life" has participated in various Jazz Festivals among which are: Jazz Plaza (Cuba), Jazz al Parque (Colombia), Salsa y Toros (France) Jazz Festival San Sebastián, Galapajazz, Clazz (Madrid-Barcelona),  Madrid Jazz Festival, Jazz Festival Melilla (Spain), La Goa Jazz (Portugal).


In those years at Madrid has collaborated on recordings with: Pastora Soler, Ketama, José el Frances, Azucar Moreno, Monica Naranjo, Armando Manzanero, Emmanuel, Lucrecia, Miguel Bosé, Alex Ubago, Jerry González, Habana Abierta, Manzanita, Andy and Lucas, Raimundo Amador, La Barberia del Sur, Boris Larramendi, Raphael and many others.


Participate in national and international tours with major artists, highlighting among others: National Jazz Orchestra of Spain, Habana Abierta, Nexus, Nagüe, Manzanita, Andy and Lucas, Bertin Osborne, Calle Caliente and Issac Delgado


He currently holds his quintet "Mijares Latin Band" with which is often seen by the Madrid Jazz Clubs playing his music and jazz standards.

He recently created with Joulien Ferrer “Iyamba”, a project which fuses cuban genres music and jazz.
